Welcome to Space from Anxiety

Space from Anxiety aims to provide knowledge and support for Trinity students experiencing anxiety.

The programme consists of six modules that you can complete in your own time and at your own pace over the course of six to seven weeks. Each module contains text, video and audio clips as well as activities and quizzes that you can complete as you go along. You will be assigned an online supporter who will review your progress each week. This supporter will be an SCS clinical team member.

The Student Counselling Service is committed to ongoing monitoring and evaluation of our services. By participating in Space from Anxiety, you agree for your data to be used anonymously for research purposes. This data includes your screening questionnaire, feedback questionnaire and usage statistics, but does not include any of the personal information you input into the programme.

How do I take part?

To apply you will have to complete a set of online screening questionnaires.

The aim of this screening questionnaire is to screen for symptoms of anxiety and depression, to ensure the programme is suitable for you and offer a baseline measure for the purposes of research.

The results of the screening will be reviewed by an SCS clinical team member. If you score above a certain cut-off point on the depression questionnaire, you will be invited in for a brief face-to-face meeting with a counsellor in order to ensure the programme is suitable for you. If the counsellor believes that your difficulties around mood might be better helped by attending for face-to-face counselling or another treatment, these will be recommended to you. If it is decided that the programme is suitable for you, you will be able to log in to the programme and can begin in your own time.

When you have completed the programme you will be asked to complete another online questionnaire, the same as the one you completed at the beginning. The purpose of this is to see if the programme has benefitted you. We will also seek feedback regarding your experience of the programme through an online questionnaire.
